Spring Training

If my title has brought you here wanting to read about baseball, Kim has a post about the Tampa Bay Rays recent trip to Punta Gorda. Our town is so cool! They just up and had a parade on a Thursday afternoon for the team.

There is always something going on here. Today, all within a five minute walk from our front door, there was an Antique Car Show, a Seafood Festival, and a Farmer’s Market downtown. But we didn’t catch those today…I’m really hoping the Seafood Fest is a two day one.

We were busy with some Spring Training of our own! Check this out:

That’s my younger son, Jacob, learning how to use a circular saw! That’s the spring training I mean. We were all out working on some cool raised planter boxes for Kim and Jacob’s latest pet project, a huge, but tiny, vegetable garden.

We made great progress and when it’s done, I’ll show you some pictures of the entire process. Isn’t he looking sharp?

Have a great weekend! And don’t miss those new RG Specialties… see the menu bar on the far right or check out this post.

Wow, you’re giving him skills of a lifetime. And how cool that you include him in your blog, and he actually lets you! I love your blog. Thanks for being such an inspiration!

I’m doing a vegetable garden in containers this year, too. Can’t wait to see your pictures – maybe I’ll get some ideas!

Can’t wait to see how the veg. planters turn out- I think it’s great to teach our children life skills- my husband has done the same with our boys. Way to be.

Hi Jacob!
Excellent job learning with Dad! My ten-year old daughter wants to know if you cook and clean too? :)

Hi, it’s only the Grandma here!

I know that I am a bit of a worry wart..however… if I had my druthers, my grandson would be using a saw while wearing tennis shoes (or something LIKE hard toed shoes) verses flip flops!! Those toes are pretty precious!!

Love you guys!

LOL…I was thinking the exact same thing as your mom, RG! What can I say, it must be a mom thing!

My boys love to “work” with their Dad. I love watching them learn life skills with him :)

Good job fathering RG!

Aw! How sweet :)

What a great skill for him to learn!
My dad is a handyman and I remember all the times he took me along on a project and taught me some of the things he knows!

Yes, I did my wonderful son!! I was just kidding as I know that you are the most careful of all, when your favorite project buddies are around. I was never REALLY worried,
