I tend to shy away from shutters…they are more old-fashioned looking than suits my husband’s and my style. But my favorite were those planter boxes that popped with the crimson paint! What a great idea!
Those might be just what we need to bring some badly needed style to the front of our home! :)

The video was fun to watch…you are a great narrator RG!

Definately the planter boxes! They say Spring :0)!!

I also enjoyed looking at the second set of shutters. They looked simple enough… and I LOVED the hardware!

Love all the color on the first image. My house is also blue and I would have never considered a yellow door and/or porch but it looks great – cheery and inviting! The (professionally done) patio and stone-covered grill with the pergola is also gorgeous. Thanks for sharing and for being so encouraging to aspiring do-it-herselfers!
By the way, your spray painted cabinet post changed my life :) Re-doing the kitchen cabinets was not on my to-do list but now…

I liked the shudders picture because I’m in the process of buying a foreclosed home that has zero curb appeal. i’m planning on making my own shudders – I call the style Swissy – three vertical boards with two horizontal cross bars. Stained dark mahogany, I think they’ll dress up the vanilla exterior really well.

I need to send you a picture of the two decks on the back of the house with peeling red paint/stain. I need suggestions on how to make them pretty again.

Love all of them! but the one with the outdoor fireplace makes my heart smile!! Ok so I posted about my kitchen re-do progress if your interested in taking a look. http://theecklife.blogspot.com/2009/04/chaos-to-get-order.html
I ended up not using the Sherwin Williams Latex Enamel- it clogged my sprayer-that stuff is like glue-so I opted for the Behr Kitchen & Bath (Im hoping it holds up to 3 kids!!) Thanks for all your advice- I figure if I can accomplish this- Im moving onto carpentry- give me a skill saw baby!!! :-)
