An angled bookcase can really add some unique interest to a room.

And the dark color looks great in this house. Gotta love that trim framing it all out! Looks like this house uses a crown molding at the top of all the door headers! Fancy!

I don’t know though… would the angle get on your nerves after awhile? I don’t even want to think about how you get that ballish globey looking thing to stay in-place.

Hey, they LOOK cool and that counts for a LOT!

They look really cool. Unfortunately for me I have something ingrained in my DNA that insists that every inch of bookshelf space must be used for my beloved books! I don’t think this bookshelf would work for me. Maybe if I could give it a different name such as nick nack decorative shelving I might manage it.

Seriously. I have this exact picture in my idea files… THREE times. :) I love it to pieces… now I just need a space to fit it into. Thanks for the reminder.

You don’t need bookends with it! It’s like a cross between standing books on end and piling them up! It makes me smile.

We were at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica this year and noticed this same idea in the hotel library. Absolutely stunning!! They also had similar white chaise lounges in the lobby. Funny coincidence to see both in this pic as well! :)
