A Tiki Bar for Christmas?

Do you have a place for an incredible outdoor project next spring? If so, I have a recommendation based on personal experience! Build a Tiki Bar! I love, love, love mine! And I have some pictures for you!

Tucked in a corner of our little yard is one of my favorite places anywhere! Tim and Kim’s Tiki Bar is open for business year round but really starts to hop when the weather warms up!

Paradise

This is my kind of outdoor kitchen and I’m featuring it here because it was built in about 4 hours, bar stools and all! No kidding. This is a perfect example of why I say outdoor projects are the best place to develop those carpentry skills. You don’t build this in four hours by being a perfectionist!

Behind the bar, I have a number of ways to cook great food!

  • An Aussie Grill - it’s charcoal and I love it!
  • A huge smoker/grill for the big jobs!
  • A gas cooker for steaming blue crabs and frying buffalo wings!

Protection from sun and rain is provided by a giant market umbrella!

Everyone knows that the cook likes to be able to see what’s going on from the kitchen! Having my bar and grill in the corner gives me an awesome point of view to watch the action! Yesterday, I cooked for over 30 people!

The area around the bar provides seating for five or six guests! We built the whole thing with two materials. Pressure treated lumber, and bamboo!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little tour of our Tiki Bar in Paradise! If I can get around to it, I might draw up some plans of exactly how all this goes together! If you think you might be interested, be sure to sign-up for the Newsletter (see sidebar or top-menu) because that’s where I’ll first share those plans when I finally do them!Bar6

I know that this look goes great in some places and maybe not in all, so tell me what kind of outdoor place you want to build! I’d love to hear all of your outdoor living dreams.

I would LOVE a tiki bar for Christmas, but only if I lived in Florida! You’d have to dig out the backyard from under it’s three-foot drifts to build it at my house right now!

Hey Tim! Cool bar, will be making one by spring and I think yours is the best one I found. Although I only took a quick look at it, for the last hour I was over at your wifes site. And WOW! She is awesome! I can’t tell you how inspired I am by her. What a great teacher. Ok, you’re awesome too, but …
